Thousands of children who normally eat free or reduced cost lunches at school are home during the summer with little or no food. Most are children of minimum wage workers who must leave their young ones in the care of a neighbor or older child. This critical situation is overcome in part with the effective MUST Summer Lunch Program. Every weekday for 10 weeks, sack lunches are packed and hand delivered to targeted locations suggested by school counselors throughout the area. North Metro Church has the great opportunity to love our neighbors this summer by partnering with the MUST Summer Lunch program.
Our goal as a church is to collect items on Sunday, June 26 that will provide 2,000 lunches on Monday, June 27. Please sign up below to bring one of the following items:
-
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (40 tablesetters needed to provide 50 each)
-
Snack bags of pretzels (40 tablesetters needed to provide 50 each)
-
Individually wrapped brownies- Store Bought Only (40 tablesetters needed to provide 50 each)
-
Juice boxes (40 tablesetters needed to provide 50 each)
-
You can also sign up online to be one of our 8 tablesetters to drive the lunches to 4 local MUST centers on Monday morning, June 27.
